--- title: Discover, Collections & Starter Packs description: Find public groups, collections and Quick Start packs made by the community, and add them to your Stremio in one click. category: community order: 1 icon: compass --- # Discover, Collections & Starter Packs You don't have to build every list yourself. **Discover** is where you browse public groups made by other StremShare users and the StremShare team, and **Quick Start** starter packs set up a whole add-on in one click. Anything you join shows up as a row in Stremio, next to your own groups. ## Groups, collections, moods and starter packs These four words show up a lot on Discover. Here's how they fit together: - **Group**: a list of movies and series. Each group you're in becomes its own row (a catalog) in your Stremio add-on. This is the thing you actually join. - **Collection**: a hand-picked set of related public groups, put together by the StremShare team. For example, a streaming service or a franchise. Opening a collection shows its groups, and you join the ones you want. - **Mood**: the same idea, sorted by how you want to feel tonight instead of by genre. - **Starter pack** (Quick Start): a ready-made bundle of groups you subscribe to in one click. It joins you to every group in the bundle and sets up your add-on for you. See [Quick Start starter packs](#quick-start-starter-packs). ## Find your way around Discover Open **Discover** from the sidebar (on a phone, it's in the bottom bar). The page is laid out top to bottom: - **Featured group**: one group in the spotlight, with **Join group** and **Preview items** buttons. - **For you**: groups picked for you, ranked from what you watch and the groups you share. Each card has a small chip explaining why it was suggested. You only see this when you're signed in. - **Collections**: category chips (such as **Streamers**, **Genres**, **Regions & languages**, **Franchises** and **For the family**) switch the row of collection tiles underneath. Click a tile to open that collection's groups, and **Close** to fold it away. - **Browse by mood**: colourful tiles. On a computer, hovering can reveal a few more. - An **Official** badge for team-verified groups, or **Active** for groups updated in the last week. - The group's average star rating, if it has one. - **by @username**: click it to open the creator's profile. - A short description, a few genres, the member count and the number of titles. - A button that reads **Join**, **Joined** (you're already in it) or **Yours** (you made it). Click anywhere else on the card to preview the group's titles before joining. **Back to Discover** returns you to where you were, with any collection or mood you had open still open. ## Search and filter The **Browse all groups** section has a filter bar that stays at the top of the screen as you scroll: 1. Type in **Search public groups...** and press Enter to search by name. 2. Pick a **Sort by** option: **Most popular**, **Highest rated**, **Most members** or **Newest**. 3. Narrow it down with **Category**, **Genre**, **Activity** (**Active this week** or **Quiet**) and **Item count** (small, medium or large groups). 4. Click **Clear** to reset everything. A **Showing:** pill appears next to the heading; click it to go back to all groups. On a computer you can also press Ctrl+K (⌘K on a Mac) to jump to the search box at the top of Discover. ### Search from anywhere On a computer, the search box in the top bar (**Search groups, content...**) looks across the whole app as you type (two or more letters). Results are grouped into: - **My Groups**: groups you're already in. - **Public Groups**: groups on Discover. Picking one you haven't joined opens Discover with that search filled in. **See all public groups** shows the full list. - **People**: public profiles. - **Content**: matching titles inside your own groups. Find a group on Discover and click **Join** on its card (or **Join group** on the featured group, or **Join Group** on the group's own page). 2. You're added to the group as a **Watcher**. You can watch everything in it, rate and review titles, but you can't add or remove titles. That stays with the group's owner and contributors. 3. The group is switched on in your add-on automatically, so it appears as a new row. Joining adds a row to your add-on's lineup, and Stremio only reads the lineup when the add-on is installed. Either reinstall the add-on (same URL), or link your Stremio account once and StremShare updates it for you from then on. To leave a group later, see [Groups & Members](/docs/help/groups-and-members). > [!NOTE] > The **Groups you might join** suggestions on your Dashboard work a little differently: their **Join** button sends a request to the group's owner, and the button changes to **Requested**. You're added once the owner approves it. ### Browsing without an account Discover works when you're signed out too, so you can look around before signing up. Buttons read **Sign up to join** instead of **Join**, and the **For you** rail only appears once you're signed in. ## Quick Start starter packs A starter pack is the fastest way to fill an empty add-on: one click and you're set up with a themed bundle of groups (anime, K-dramas, comedies, what's on a streaming service and so on). **Where to find them** - Right after you create an account, you land on the **Pick a Quick Start** page. - While you have no groups, your Dashboard shows a **Welcome to StremShare** card with **Browse starter packs**. - On **Templates**, while you only have one template, there's a **Browse starter packs** button. **Subscribing** 1. Look through the packs. Each card shows the pack's name, a short description and how many groups it holds. 2. Click **Subscribe** on the one you want. 3. A banner confirms it (for example, how many groups were added to your Stremio). Click **Install your addon** if you haven't installed it yet, or **Manage templates** to see your setup. ![The Pick a Quick Start page with starter pack cards](/docs/help/img/discover-quick-start.png "Pick a Quick Start: subscribe to a bundle in one click") **What subscribing does** - Joins you as a **Watcher** to every public group in the pack. - Saves the pack as a template named after the pack and switches your add-on to it, so your add-on shows that pack's rows. - If your Stremio account is linked, pushes the change to Stremio for you. > [!WARNING] > Subscribing to a second pack switches your add-on to the new pack's template. Groups you joined only through the previous pack, and that aren't in the new one, are left for you. Groups you joined yourself are never touched, and your earlier setup is kept as a template, so you can switch back any time. See [Templates](/docs/help/templates). Subscribing to the same pack again picks up any groups added to it since. If a pack group has gone private or been removed, it's skipped and the banner tells you how many. > [!BETA] > This feature is in beta. If it's greyed out with an **In beta** pill, your account isn't in the beta yet. > > Under the packs you may see **Let AI curate my homepage**. **Turn it on** lets the AI Curator put together your homepage every week with no setup, as an alternative to picking a pack. See [AI features](/docs/help/ai-features). Prefer to look around first? **I'll explore on my own** at the bottom of the page takes you to your Dashboard, and you can come back later. ## Report a group If a public group breaks the rules, let the StremShare team know: 1. On a computer, hover over the group's card and click the flag icon in its top-right corner (**Report group**). 2. Choose a reason: **Inappropriate Content**, **Spam**, **Misleading** or **Other**. 3. Optionally add **Additional Details** (up to 500 characters). 4. Click **Submit Report**. ![The Report Group dialog with the four reasons](/docs/help/img/discover-report-group.png "Reporting a group") You need to be signed in to report, you can report each group once, and there's a daily limit on reports. The team reviews every report. ## Publish your own group to Discover Made a group you're proud of? Share it: open the group, go to **Settings**, and use **Publish to Discover**. A group needs a description, a category and at least 3 titles before it can be published. Once it's public, anyone can find it and join as a Watcher. You can make it private again at any time, and existing members keep their access. The full walkthrough is in [Groups & Members](/docs/help/groups-and-members). ## Curators and their profiles Every card names its creator (**by @username**). Click the name to open their public profile, see their other public groups and templates, and follow them. See [Your Profile, Following & Badges](/docs/help/profiles). ## Troubleshooting **I joined a group but it isn't in Stremio.** Joining adds a new row, which Stremio only picks up when the add-on is reinstalled. Reinstall with the same URL, or link your Stremio account under [Add-on Setup](/docs/help/addon-setup) so it happens automatically. Also check the group is switched on there. **The Join button is greyed out.** It says **Joined** if you're already a member, or **Yours** if it's your own group. **"You're joining groups too quickly."** There's a short limit on how many groups you can join in a burst.
